Top Shop in the Nation
CarQuest
Press Release
LAS
VEGAS, NV (Oct. 19, 2001) -- CARQUEST Auto Parts is proud to announce Bob
Anderson and Glen Jones of AJ's Auto Repair in Salem, Oregon as the 2001
National Excellence Award winner.
"It's a great honor to be this year's National Excellence Award
winner," said Anderson, whose facility is a TECH-NET Professional
Auto Service location. "I've been overwhelmed with participation on
the Technician's Advisory Council the last two years. We feel our success
is directly related to our association with CARQUEST and the
professionalism and integrity that we all stand for."
2001 marks the 10th anniversary of the CARQUEST Excellence Award, which is
announced annually in conjunction with the CARQUEST Technicians Advisory
Council meeting. The top ten shops in the nation were flown to the awards
banquet. The winner of the 2001 National Excellence Award was announced
Oct. 12, 2001 in Las Vegas, NV.
"We accepted a record 402 qualified entries this year from the very
best auto repair shops in America and the editors from the automotive
trade publications who did the judging said this was the toughest year by
far to judge," Mike DeSorbo, CARQUEST National Director of Training
said.
The CARQUEST Excellence Award is based on industry involvement, A.S.E.
technician certifications, community involvement, training, shop
appearance, customer service, random surveys of each shops clientele base,
environmental commitment, and input from mystery shoppers who were sent to
each shop. The editors of the top industry trade publications selected the
finalists and the National winner.
